If you have a cat and a dog, you know that only one of them runs your house — your cat. Yep, it doesn’t matter how big your dog is, when there’s a cat around they somehow manage to always have the upper hand. In one house, it’s the family Maine Coon Cat who seems to run things. Especially his Doberman fur-sibling. And they’re slightly unexpected dynamic has people cracking up online.
Dexter has an enemy in the house — the family dog. The Doberman is downright afraid of the Maine Coon Cat, despite being at least double her size.

We just know their human has a ton of fun with these two. We wish we were there the moment they realized that the Doberman was afraid of the family cat! It’s truly so unexpected! But when you see how these two interact you’ll see that we’re totally right.

The clip shows poor Appa, the Doberman, cowering in fear on the sofa while the Maine Coon waits below. We don’t know what Appa did to get on the Maine Coon Cat’s bad side, but he sure wasn’t happy to be there. Even when Appa is trying to rest, Dexter is keeping a close eye on him.
Uh oh, we’re starting to get into frenemies territory here. The two can get really testy with each other. Which is probably why their human made a very keen observation:
“Dexter the Maine Coon isn’t a fan of Appa the Doberman,” the video’s text overlay reads. That’s certainly true.
Are Maine Coon Cats Friendly?
You wouldn’t really know it from these two, but Maine Coon Cats are considered to be friendly cats. Maine Coons are known for being goofy and very loving. They are affectionate cats that are excellent companions to the humans they love. They tend to get along with everyone! Kids, adults, and yes, even dogs.
In short, They’re beloved for their big personalities — just not by Appa we guess.
