That’s right, the Golden Retriever has been named the most-searched dog in 2025, according to research from the website Pet Insurance Deals. This breed clocks in at around 1,081,092 average searches per month, which is 40% more than the next most popular breed in the group.
And it sounds like residents of every state but Utah feel the same way — the Beehive State are apparently all in on Bernese Mountain Dogs — with Californians showing the Golden Retriever the most love, with an average of 136,772 searches for the breed each month.
After Golden Retrievers, these next nine breeds fill in the rest of the list of the top 10 dog breeds in the U.S. in 2025:
