Food seems to be a universal language between dogs and people. It doesn’t really matter what’s being served—dogs want it. And if you leave it unattended, you are likely to lose it!
Blue, the 3-year-old Golden Retriever, seems like an easy-going guy. He enjoys walking on the beach and playing with his little brother, Bear. He also likes food! His mom recently shared a video of him practicing an epic level of restraint next to a tray of tacos and quite honestly, we think he deserves a medal!
In the clip, the family is dining at an outdoor restaurant. Blue is sitting perfectly still right next to the table. Behind him you see the most glorious tray of delicious looking tacos, and it’s obvious he is contemplating life—and whether there is going to be a taco for him!
As she zooms in a little, he gives his human a slight stink eye, but he proves that he can respect the boundaries of the table and not just chomp down the whole tray of Mexican food in one bite! Based on some of their other food-related videos on Instagram, we are confident that Bear got a nibble from the tray!
A few Blue and Bear fans shared their thoughts on the taco situation including @junipertheredgolden who said, “Everyone loves tacos!” And honestly, we agree. They really are a staple in most American households!
Another viewer referenced a TikTok trending voiceover and said, “Don’t be suspicious, don’t be suspicious!” The jingle fits perfectly with Blue and his taco longing side-eye!
This video makes me think of my Golden and her love of Italian food! One time, I pulled a hot pizza out of the oven and left it on the stovetop to cool while I went to round up my boys for dinner. When I came back—there she was, licking her lips with no pizza in sight! She could have used some lessons from Blue in the patience department!
