Most animals are social beings that appreciate the interactions they have with humans and other animals. Donkeys are particularly expressive when they want to tell you something, and honestly, if you can get past the volume, it’s quite endearing how much they want people to know what’s on their mind!
Henry is a 5-year-old donkey who constantly has something to say! His Mom goes out to the pasture every morning and says, “Good Morning, Henry!” and he immediately starts braying as loud as he can, as if to say, “Good Morning, Mom!” As she gets closer to him, he gets louder!

In the TikTok clip shared by Henry’s mom, she approaches the fence and calls out to him. He appears from behind the little barn and instantly starts a series of brays, snorts, and screams to express his delight in having a visitor.
Mom then says, “Oh my goodness! That was a big story you had to tell!” After being properly acknowledged, Henry turns and walks towards his breakfast bowl. It’s a clear signal to let his human know that the conversation is over and he’s ready to eat!

She follows him down the fence line and says, “Oh, are you ready for your breakfast?” Henry turns and looks right into the camera. He gives several hee-haws and brays before Mom obliges and drops his feed down into his bowl. She then says, “My goodness, you were chatty this morning!” and Henry responds with a big, sighing snort while eating!
Obviously, Henry had lots to say, and everyone in the comments shared their thoughts on what he was trying to relay to his mom. Here are a few highlights:
“It’s Friday and Henry is reminding everybody that tomorrow is Donut Saturday!”
“You were two minutes late and he was letting you know!!!”
“Something went down last night, and Henry is here to spill the tea!”
What an amazing way to start your day! Henry’s mom gives him some pats on his muzzle while he munches away. We are now left to ponder what exactly the donkey was trying to say, but if I had to bet, I’d say it had something to do with the upcoming donut day!
