Any rescue dog’s story could make a person misty-eyed, but Savannah and Oliver Joe’s story will have you reaching for the Kleenex. These adorable senior dogs lived a life of love and relaxation until their human tragically passed away, and now they’ve found themselves at a Southern California animal rescue, waiting for the perfect home to come their way.
The elderly Poodle mixes arrived at Frosted Faces Foundation in Ramona, California, in late March, but the bonded pair was still waiting patiently at the rescue by the time Frosted Faces’ Open House rolled around on June 21. Luckily, the dog mom and foster hero behind @peakepups saw just how sweet these seniors are, and she even helped them go viral on TikTok.
Just wait until you see how much they love each other!
@peakepups Oliver Joe and Savannah Joe are 15 years old and available for adoption through @frostedfaces in Ramona, California. They have a $0 adoption fee and cover medical for life at their on-site vet. Their adoption application is linked in our bio.
Their cuddles are everything! It’s hard to imagine these two ever being separated, especially after helping each other through such a traumatic time, but that may unfortunately have to be the case. Finding a home for one older dog is hard enough, let alone two!
“I adopted a bonded mom and daughter pair,” one commenter began, “as the organization was not going to separate them. They cried if one was away. They do everything together and are grateful little beings.”
That’s so beautiful! Giving a rescue dog a family is the ultimate gift, but keeping their family together at the same time is the best possible scenario. Needless to say, my fingers are crossed that these cuddly cuties get the same happy ending!
@peakepups Replying to @helpingheart There isn’t an update, Oliver and Savannah still need a family and are hoping for one together. Here are some photos of their time in foster and on an outing with a Frosted Faces volunteer.
I truly don’t think these little dogs could be any more angelic. Their love for one another is the purest bond, but the ways they share joy and love with their friends at the rescue, too, could make anyone melt.
Even though many adopters feel intimidated by the thought of adopting not just one, but two senior dogs, most find that bonded pairs adjust extremely well thanks to the comfort of their sibling. They’ll play with each other, cuddle together, and look absolutely adorable while doing it. What’s not to love?
