People often use the expression “birdbrain” to imply that someone has trouble thinking. However, we believe that birds are actually highly intelligent creatures. Some of them are even highly competent criminal masterminds.
Just take the cunning gull in this video, for instance. They pulled off what is nothing less than the perfect crime. If a birdbrain can pull off a heist this meticulous, then it stands to reason that maybe we could all learn something from the birds.
Like any criminal mastermind, this bird demonstrated nerves of steel as they approached their chosen target: a convenience store. More specifically, the snack aisle in that convenience store.
Cool as a cucumber, they marched right on in, eyes on the prize, a bag of peanuts. They knew that the convenience store doors would open as soon as they approached, after all, they had carefully cased this convenience store while they were plotting how they would pull off this daring heist.

As soon as they were inside the store, the doors closed on them, but this bird did not fear; they knew it would open again as soon as they approached it. The key was to remain calm. And they did.
They did not cause a fuss inside the store, which surely would have drawn the staff’s attention and likely foiled their plan. Instead, this bird kept their cool, located the peanuts, and then walked on out with their score like they were born to do this.
Once in the parking lot, this audacious bird proceeded to enjoy their prize. It was certainly well-earned!
Can Birds Eat Peanuts?
Most birds love eating peanuts. These tasty nuts can actually be a good supplementary food source for our avian companions. But like with anything else, moderation is the key.
While peanuts can be a good source of protein, fat, and other important nutrients, if they are a bird’s only source of food, that is not good because it means that they are not eating a balanced diet.
Raw peanuts, roasted peanuts, as long as they are unsalted and unflavored, as well as unsalted, natural peanut butter, can be great snacks for birds to enjoy.
