Does your pooch enjoy going to Starbucks for a Pup Cup? Mine loves to go anywhere in the car, and employees at Starbucks are used to seeing customers roll through the drive-thru with their pets. But employees at a Starbucks were in for a treat when Kerri, owner of Eagle Eye alpaca farm in River Falls, Wisconsin, decided to treat her baby alpaca Oliver to a pup cup.
What’s so cute about this video is that you don’t usually see people driving around with their pet alpacas on their laps. But what makes the video even better is the reactions from the Starbucks employees – they were so excited to see who was in their drive-thru! Make sure your sound is on so you can hear what Oliver has to say about the experience.
Oliver’s little bleats of excitement were too cute! Commenter @hazelbartlette16 agreed, “Alpacas make the most adorable sounds!!” @reginaserran pointed out, “Oliver is a star!” He’s a local celebrity! @Camoflauge Clothing swooned, “Best thing I’ve seen all day!”

Do Alpacas Make Good Pets?
Are you ready to bring home an alpaca after watching Eagle Eye Farm’s video? Alpacas are known for their friendly temperament and chill personalities. They’re relatively quiet, and they are not stinky like some animals (cows, for example). They can form strong bonds with their humans and are kid friendly.
While they are typically friendly animals, alpacas are also shy, so if you have a busy household with kids and pets running around (especially aggressive ones), alpacas aren’t going to be comfortable with that. You’ll know your alpaca is upset if they begin to scream loudly. Another sure sign they’re annoyed? They spit. They spit to let those around them (animals and humans) know they are not happy and to warn them to back off.
Alpacas may be friendly and form bonds with their humans, but they aren’t cuddly creatures. If you’re looking for a pet you can pet and cuddle with, an alpaca might not be it. That being said, once they trust you, they will tolerate you touching them, but most likely will not enjoy being cuddled.
Also, you can’t have just one. Alpacas like to be in groups, so it’s best to get at least two of them if you’re considering adding them to your farm. If you have the room and are okay with accommodating their special dietary needs, alpacas can make great pets. Make sure to do your research to learn all about them so you can make an informed decision if they’re the right pet for you.
