Animals love music just as much as people. For instance, cows love listening to jazz. And apparently, horses enjoy a good old-fashioned acoustic guitar set.
As this video shows, some of them even possess musical talent, like Yupia the rescue horse. Recently, this magnificent horse joined a guitarist in performing a magical rendition of Creedence Clearwater Revival’s “Bad Moon Rising,” and the result speaks for itself.
At first, the guitarist is performing on her own. But Yupia quickly joins her and begins playing with her. And let’s just say, Yupia is a guitar maestro!
Using their very flexible lips, Yupia wasted no time playing guitar with this woman. This horse was fast and furious on the strut board, hitting every note and playing every chord like they had been doing this their whole life.

But make no mistake, this was a collaborative musical effort, with the guitarist offering Yupia plenty of encouragement as they played together.
But at the end of the song, Yupia wasn’t ready to take a bow yet. No, this horse wanted to really show off their guitar skills and kept on going, showing that they can solo with the best of them!
And when Yupia finally did take a bow, they did it with the utmost style and grace, taking the woman’s hat in their mouth and valuing their head several times. This rescue horse definitely knows how to put on a show!
How Much Do Horses Enjoy Music?
Horses love a good tune, as long as it is the right type of music. Since they are prey animals, they have highly sensitive ears, which are capable of twisting almost all the way around on their head. The direction their ears move in indicates where their attention is.
So, they are more than capable of hearing any music that is played around them. However, they do not enjoy all types of music. Typically, they enjoy music with few vocals that is easy and relaxing. In particular, they really enjoy classical music and country music.
As such, the acoustic guitar rendition of a relaxed song, like Creedence Clearwater Revival’s “Bad Moon Rising,” is ideally suited for our equine companions.
