Have no fear, Walter is here! The Bloodhound loves to sit by the window and keep an eye on things. The dog is very diligent when it comes to standing guard and working as the “neighborhood watch.” He’s such a good security dog! And a clip of the pup at the window is too cute.
Walter isn’t just a good boy around the house, he’s here for the whole neighborhood. He might not have an official title, but he still shows up day in and day out to make sure that nothing goes amiss.

The Bloodhound loves taking a gander outside. We bet this is his favorite window to sit at. Yep, it seems like the pup must sit at the window all day, every day just to keep an eye on his favorite people. Thank goodness Walter is so tall. He has to see over the window ledge!

“Walter’s pastime, the neighborhood watch,” the video’s onscreen caption reads.
The comments section was obsessed with Walter, which is totally understandable.
“He’s definitely voiced by Sam Elliot,” joked one person.
“That is the most Bloodhound-Bloodhound I have ever seen,” another commenter teased.
“And he’s silently judging every one of them!” added a third commenter.
“I’m being dead serious when I say this, you need to turn the air conditioning on, your dog is obviously melting!” teased another person.
Are Bloodhounds Good Guard Dogs?
Despite their large size, and in the case of Walter — their love of looking outside, Bloodhounds might not be the best choice for a guard dog. It’s surprising, we know! The pups seem like they could take care of business if need be, but they were actually bred for hunting, not for protection. That means that your Bloodhound is more likely to say hi to an intruder than scare them off, which is not ideal.
In short, these dogs are too laidback, too docile, and too calm to really be a good guard dog. But they do love to keep an eye out for the block!
