Meet Hugo, a rambunctious and adorable 5-month-old Golden Retriever puppy who adores his big sister, a 10-year-old Corgi named Ruby. Their mom recently took them to the lake for Hugo’s first swim there, but it didn’t go exactly as planned…or maybe it did!
The video begins with Hugo already all over his sister, or as mom says, trying to ‘murder’ her. Ruby just wants to splash around and enjoy a swim, but Hugo has other plans. He wants to play and won’t take no for an answer!
@maui_thegoldenpup It’s Hugo’s first lake swim and he was too excited 😭🤣poor Ruby #goldenretriever #corgi #attemptedmurdervictim
Poor Ruby! Just like any older sister dealing with an annoying little sibling, she wasn’t too happy about Hugo’s antics!

Commenters Were Not Amused After Watching Hugo’s First Lake Swim
Viewers left more than 500 comments about Hugo’s first lake swim with Ruby, and they were not happy that the duo’s mom let him act that way without correcting him. Some viewers saw the funny side of the situation, but they were few and far between.
@s.vk wondered, “Am I… the witness of a crime?” @yukki shared, “The ‘back off!’ bark is sooo sad.” @cattig01 agreed, “Omg that poor Corgi! The Golden is just a puppy; you need to intervene, not laugh.” @Nosnowflake felt the same way, “I have both a Corgi and a Golden! I would never just watch my Golden attack my Corgi. That’s just awful!” @robincastellanos added, “She needs a safety vest.”
Viewer @RayLugo327 was angry, “And owner does nothing. Not my place, but it just seems wrong to just let it continue.” @”Take the Hill” agreed, “Absolutely not. You should have been in that water correcting him.”
Commenter @Ashe Bree was diplomatic with her negative comment, “Common injuries in Corgis: herniated discs. We just don’t want to see the Corgi get hurt! Sometimes we have to intervene more to prevent puppies from bad behavior and manners.”
@Lisa shared, “I saw a Dog Whisperer show where he said that if your dog ever feels threatened or gets hurt in front of you and you don’t help them, then they will lose all trust in you. Not sure if it’s true. But this video made me think of that episode.”
Mom didn’t respond to any of the comments, and we’re sure the two are fine or she wouldn’t have posted it. Many are hoping for some kind of response or update soon.
