The Renault 4 Savane 4×4 Concept is a showcar built in the gentleman explorer spirit, appealing to the concepts of elegance and adventure. Synonymous with “exploration” back in the 1950s, the name Savane continued the journey in 1986 in a more jaunty, but still adventure-oriented version of the Renault 4. Precisely for this reason, the model has 15 mm more ground clearance than the standard version of the Renault 4 E-Tech Electric. It mounts tyres, still 18″, but adapted Goodyear UltraGrip Performance+ with specific rims, while the front and rear track width is 10 mm wider on each side. ‘The increased ground clearance and wider track widths add to the always-on all-wheel drive to enable it to tackle even the roughest terrain,’ said Sandeep Bhambra, Director of Advanced Design and Concept-Car Ampere and Renault.
