After a long day of work, I’d love to do nothing more than veg out on the couch with my dogs, a snack, and my favorite TV show. Exercise is the last thing I’d like to think about when I’m already exhausted, but a little exercise can be more energizing and beneficial than I give it credit for.
Still, I’d almost always choose laziness if I could! I admit that I’m not the most motivated person at the gym, which is why I can relate to Howie the black cat and his passive-aggressive workout routine. Even though he’s ‘working out’ on his human’s walking pad, it’s clear he’d rather be anywhere else!
This lazy cat took a unique approach to using the walking pad, and honestly, he might be onto something. Technically, he’s still exercising, right?

He’s so focused! If I only saw Howie’s front half, I’d think he’s working hard to practice catching mice or chasing cat toys. But then there’s his back end, which gives it all away.
“He’s out here complaining like someone made half of him do that,” joked commenter @washington1884. LOL! There’s no question that he’s not happy about getting tricked into walking on the pad, but the real question here comes from Alyssa: “Does he know he can stop?”

I don’t think he does! Many walking pads use the walker’s momentum as power, but something tells me this grumpy cat‘s brain hasn’t figured that out yet. All in due time!

Okay, maybe the treadmill is growing on him! He’s definitely trying to hypnotize his mom to let him take his turn with those bright yellow eyes, but will he get mad when he gets stuck walking again? Probably, but that’s OK!
Howie may have the deadpan expression of an unimpressed feline, but it’s genuinely touching that he took an interest in his mom’s hobbies and habits. He’s such a sweet and funny cat!
