Never underestimate the ability of a fearsome hound to defend their territory. And while many people have the image of large, muscular dogs, such as Pitbulls or Rottweilers, in mind when they think of intimidating guard dogs, don’t count the little ones out.
As this video shows, Pumpkin, the Pomeranian, is more than up to the task of defending his home from a villainous pigeon, or at least he thinks he is.
The trouble starts when the dastardly pigeon descends upon Pumpkin’s humble abode to give the diminutive fluffy dog the most outrageous side eye that anyone has ever seen from a bird that literally has eyes on the side of their head.
Things escalate quickly when the mean bird upsets poor little Pumpkin by sitting on top of the backyard fence. The tiny canine is so upset by this transgression that he knocks over a potted plant sitting on the windowsill.
Of course, this is the pigeon’s fault. Had this bird not upset Pumpkin, he never would have knocked the plant over. Pumpkin was not going to stand for this grave injustice.

With all his might, this brave little dog charged into the backyard ready to defend his life, liberty, and the pursuit of tasty treats from the nasty avian invader. The only problem was that when Pumpkin went gloriously charging out into the fray, he went the wrong way.
No matter. Pumpkin was satisfied with his defensive tactics of running around the backyard barking at nothing, and that’s what counts.
As you can see, Pumpkin is no stranger to battling fearsome foes. In this other video, he takes on the dreaded Rumba!
He attacks this unrighteous machine with all the fury of the heavyweight prizefighter and inflicts all the damage of a floating feather.
And of course, little Pumpkin did all the work while his human just stood around and watched. Honestly, Pumpkin’s humans are lucky to have him.
Who knows what kind of danger they would be in without their ferocious, pint-size guard dog?
