Beagles are known for being voracious eaters, willing to go to any extremes to get to food. Kiki and Koko are two Beagles whose pawrents have a lot of fun doing all kinds of food related things with them, like cooking dog-friendly meals with their ‘help’ (which is really just pure chaos). But in this video, their dad came up with a fun enrichment activity, and it’s cracking everybody up!
The idea was to create a game like ‘whack-a-mole’, but instead of a mole popping out of the holes in the box, Dad used a sausage. We’re not sure which pooch is playing in this video, but it’s so fun to watch! Make sure your sound is on to hear the dog’s mom laughing in the background; her laughter and the accompanying music make it even funnier!
@beagleskiko Too funny 😂😂 #dog #beagle #funnydog

Finally, there was success at the end! We think Dad got a good workout trying to keep that sausage moving! Viewers also got a kick out of Kiki and Koko’s video, leaving nearly 3,000 comments, and some of them were funny!
@colorful tears joked, “Them: enrichment Dog: enragement”, while @Keldon West joked, “Owners: ‘The food aggression came out of nowhere’ LOL!”
We laughed when @Mary B. admitted, “I read bagel vs. sausage and was so intrigued but not disappointed lol!!!” @Beod Ishere also made us laugh, “If you did that to me with a taco I would lose my sh*t!”

Food Enrichment Activities for Dogs
You don’t have to go as far as creating this whack-a-mole box for your dog to have fun; there are so many simple food enrichment activities to try with your pooch. One simple hands-off activity is to serve your pooch meals in a slow feeder or food dispensing feeder, which makes them wait (and work!) for their meal.
Puzzle toys are another fun way to keep your dog entertained while they try to get to hidden treats. Think of puzzle toys like the Kong, which keeps our dog busy for hours.
Barkercise shared this fun idea too, “To make an enrichment box you simply need a larger cardboard box, some smaller boxes, empty toilet rolls, and newspaper. Put treats in the toilet rolls, smaller boxes or wrap them in newspaper and fill the box up. You can also put in a chew toy or stuffed Kong, so they have something to settle down with when they are finished.
You may have a mess of shredded paper to clean up. But what are a few minutes of tidying for hours of fun and enrichment for your dog?” It’s a simple and inexpensive way to keep your fur baby entertained and would be fun to watch, too!
But not all enrichment activities have to be food related. Check out these five enrichment games that have nothing to do with food.
