We love them, but we have to admit that not every cat is affectionate. Nope, some are a little more hands off. Like one cat who isn’t typically super touchy-feely, but knows when she has to turn on the charm to get what she wants. And watching the cat pretend to be affectionate is actually so awkward.
The cat had one objective and one objective only — get some food. She was determined to get a little nosh, even if she had to lower herself to a little tenderness.

We just know this pained the cat. This was her lowest moment. Reaching out to her lowly human? Absolutely pathetic and she knows it. But what wouldn’t a girl do for a little extra food?
The clip shows the cat slowly walking over to her human. Ugh, this is embarrassing. She’ll give her mama a little bit of loving — if she has to.

“POV: When you’re not affectionate but you pretend to be for food,” the video’s text overlay states.
“Sugar knows how to pull on my heart strings,” the woman wrote in the caption. And even though the woman knows she’s being played, something tells us the move completely worked.
Unfortunately, people in the comments section could totally relate. They understood what the cat was saying, without her saying a word.
“You are… somebody…to me,” joked one person, as if reading the cat’s mind.
“I have a…deep regard for you,” someone else teased.
“You are…. a person…. in my life,” chimed in another commenter.
While one person put it a little more bluntly: “Here’s your darn affection,” they quipped.
Why Aren’t Some Cats Affectionate?
Some cats do like affection, but then there are others who are seriously not fans. But why is that? There are some real reasons why some cats might not like human touching.
The first reason could be your cat’s breed. Some breeds are just not touchy-feely. Second, some cats just don’t trust humans. It might be because they weren’t exposed to humans as kittens or it might be because of past abuse. Some cats might feel pain or a medical condition. Or maybe your cat just doesn’t love to cuddle. In which case, you might have to accept whatever loving they’ll give you.
