When we think about animals and their personalities, we often limit our thoughts to dogs, cats, and maybe parrots. The truth is that all animals have personality traits that make them unique and special, and that includes extra-large mammals!
Korbessa is a 2-year-old African elephant who is constantly showing her keepers just how much personality she has! In a recent Instagram video shared by the Sheldrick Wildlife Trust, we were given a taste of her cheeky behavior, and we just can’t get enough of her!
As the clip starts, we see Korbessa propped up on a bale of hay. She has both of her front legs stretched way out in front of her and it’s as if she thinks it’s an actual chaise lounge made just for her.
She dramatically throws her trunk back and I think if she had hair, she would toss that over her shoulders too! Honestly, she looks like a little toddler who is sticking her tongue out at us.
Then she brings her trunk back down and looks straight into the camera with a hilarious bit of side-eye action. In this moment it’s clear—she knows she is the star of her own show!

The Sheldrick Wildlife Trust rescued Korbessa from a well as a newborn who was only a few days old. She has shown her spunky spirit from the beginning and although she is one of the youngest elephants in the nursery, it’s reported that she is running the show!
