When it comes to eating, animals have the same requirements as humans. They enjoy three meals a day, water, and, of course, snacks on demand! Goats are especially needy in the snack department and are happy to take matters into their own hooves if needed!
On Instagram recently, @shuga.honey.ice.tea shared a video of a hilarious goat encounter at the Yellowstone Bear World Petting Zoo. The clip starts with a human putting a quarter into the animal food vending machine. She doesn’t even get to touch the knob, and it’s apparent that the goat thinks she’s taking too long! He nudges her out of the way and gets down to business!
After ushering the patron out of the way, the well-trained goat uses his long nose to turn the knob on the snack machine. He spins the handle once, twice, and a third time before using his snout to lift up the little door and claim the reward for his hard work!
The goat then consumes the kibble before it even comes all the way down the chute! It’s clear that he has done this before, but if you need more proof, just look at the geese circling around the pole that the vending machine is mounted on. The birds benefit from this little routine, and surely, they have no complaints about their easy access to food!

As you can imagine, the comment section didn’t disappoint! Here are several highlights:
“That’s why they call him the GOAT!”
“Yet another reason why we absolutely cannot switch to digital currency!”
“This would be a very expensive day out for me—I just couldn’t say no!”
The animals at the Yellowstone Bear World Petting Zoo are obviously well-cared for and definitely well-fed. This goat makes it look easy—but the real question is: how long did it take him to learn how to operate the quarter vending machine?
