Lauren Ketterman, AKA Barefoot Mimosas on social media, shared the cutest video ever of her little ‘duck army’ lining up for breakfast, and people can’t get enough! In the video, Lauren lets the ducks out of their coop, and they follow her in a line, excited for chow time.
You’ll want to make sure your sound is on for this video because their squawks and squeaks are pure bliss to hear! They’re all just adorable to watch, and I bet you’ll watch the video more than once!
After watching this, I want some ducks of my own! They’re all so cute, and I think it would be fun to have a little army of ducks following me around. @cmfamily agreed, “Eeeeekkkk I NEED a duck army ASAP!”
@nancylee107 swooned, “I just love the sounds!!” @eileenr08 added, “What a joyous sound!” I couldn’t agree more!

Fun Facts About Ducks
One of the cool things about covering pet and animal-related topics is that you learn a lot about them. Take this one for example: did you know that ducklings start communicating with each other while they are still in their eggs, and all communicate to hatch at the same time? It’s amazing that their communication starts before they can even quack!
Speaking of quacking, I found this fact at Misfit Animals that blew my mind: “Not all ducks quack. Only female ducks quack, while male ducks make other sounds, often referred to as a raspy whistle.” What?! I thought that all ducks quacked! And duck quacks echo; the sound they make fades in and out, so it’s hard to tell the first quack from the echoes.
We lived in Indiana a few years ago and had a pond in our backyard. A pair of ducks came back every year to have their ducklings, and they were all so cute! Each year, as spring got closer and the sun melted away the winter snow, the ducks would show up to swim in the ice-filled pond. It didn’t matter to them that the water was freezing because ducks don’t mind the cold, ice, or snow. I learned that they have no nerves or blood vessels in their feet, which helps them to prevent heat loss. They literally cannot feel the cold! Who knew that ducks were so fascinating!
