A sunny day on the lake is the epitome of summertime fun, whether you’re a human, a dog, or even a cow. While that may sound hard to believe, one special little cow celebrated the Fourth of July with an epic lake trip, complete with a boat ride and fireworks show, alongside his family and friends.
Meet Buttercup! This adorable calf is a baby Highland Cow who acts more like a dog than a cow. His dad, @drake.potter6, is no stranger to spoiling his cows, but not even he has pulled off a stunt like this before. Even so, with a little planning (and a cow-sized diaper), this doting animal dad helped his bovine BFF have the best day ever!

What a cutie pie! This sweet baby calf was so happy to tag along with Drake, whether they were on the boat or in the backyard. I would have never expected a farm animal to be so flexible and easygoing, but this baby is crushing stereotypes left and right.

“These Doodle mixes are getting out of hand,” one commenter joked. LOL! From far away, I could see how this calf could be mistaken for a massive Doodle dog, but there’s no mistaking exactly what he is as you come closer.
Imagine how flabbergasted other boaters must have been to see a cow on the lake! Now that’s a summertime memory anyone would remember forever.
Video viewers seemed to have the same thought about this adorable animal adventure: “It’s all fun and games until he’s full-grown and wants to go boating!” While Drake expects Buttercup to get only slightly larger than a Great Dane, only time will tell how ‘miniature’ this cow truly is. Besides, if he gets bigger than expected, it’s the best excuse to get a bigger boat!

Buttercup the Highland calf has no idea just how famous he’s become! He has millions of views since his July Fourth escapades, but I have a feeling the adventure isn’t over yet.
No matter how big this mini cow becomes, he’ll always have a best friend, playmate, and caretaker in Drake. Not to mention thousands of new fans!
