You know who really loves cake? One Chocolate Lab from Michigan. The dog was practically salivating during a party when there was cake around. She wasn’t even trying to hide it! The Lab really wanted just a bite of the tasty treat. And now people online are cracking up over the dog’s adorably eager face.
This looks like a party we’d want to go to! There were so many dogs in attendance, including one Chocolate Lab who was really excited for cake.
@yeetsociety She was just waiting for cake honestly
Did someone say cake?! The Labrador Retriever was downright salivating at the mere thought of getting a taste of the sweet treat. The pup already had her party hat on and was being so patient as she waited for the humans at the bash to cut the cake and start doling them out.
Come on, come on, come on… We can’t read minds but we swear we can hear the Chocolate Lab being impatient as she waits for someone to give her a slice. We hope the cake is dog-safe!
“She was just waiting for cake honestly,” the dog’s human joked in the video’s caption.
Everyone in the comments section wanted the dog to get a treat — ASAP.
“Old happy dogs are my weakness everytime,” wrote one person.
“HAND THAT PRECIOUS ANGEL HER SLICE OF CAKE RIGHT NOW,” demanded someone else.
“I’m crying because she’s perfect and I hope she knows that she’s perfect,” a third person added.
“GOD FORBID a girl want cake ON HER BIRTHDAY,” another commenter teased.
Can Dogs Eat Cake?
Sadly for this sweet girl, it’s probably for the best that she doesn’t dig in. Cake is perfectly fine for humans to eat, but isn’t really a good treat for pups. Most of the ingredients aren’t suitable for dogs; chocolate cake in particular can be dangerous for dogs to ingest. Cake can also have extra fat, sugar, and wheat which can be bad for a dog’s health.
If you do want your dog to participate in the festivities, a regular treat during cake time can do the trick! Or even a special dog-friendly snack like watermelon or strawberries could be a thrill for them. There’s always a way to include you pup in the celebration.
