Does your pet ever try to sneak snacks or extra food? My dog tries to every chance she gets and Jen Greenberg, AKA The Green Bird Brigade, also has the same issue with her little Quaker parrot named Auggie.
Auggie had already had dinner when Jen realized that Auggie was missing, and she could hear noise coming from the kitchen. She went to investigate and found Auggie helping herself to a second dinner! Make sure your sound is on so you can hear Jen scolding her – it’s too cute!
@the_green_bird_brigade I swear that bag was standing upright the last time I checked 😂
There was absolutely zero remorse or guilt on Auggie’s part! She didn’t even stop eating when Jen caught her in the act. I guess she knows that she’s cute enough to get away with it!
Viewers left some pretty funny comments about the Quaker parrot’s reaction to getting caught red-handed. @Amber Lynn laughed and said, “The way she just walks right into the bag!!!” @Ricco pointed out, “Omg her little shakes like she was so proud of herself, so cute LOL!” @Magick Mom added, “Her sassy little head sway when you catch her! She’s so funny!”

All About Chatty Quaker Parrots
Quaker parrots, also known as monk parakeets, are highly intelligent birds and the only ones out there that build communal nests. Auggie is not only cute, she’s famous, too. You might have seen her around before singing ‘Bacon pancakes, makin’ bacon pancakes‘, and it’s absolutely adorable when she does it!
If you’re looking for a talking parrot, consider a Quaker parrot like Auggie. They’re amazing mimics of not just human voices but of other sounds they hear on a regular basis. Many Quaker bird parrots say that it seems that the birds actually want to communicate with them!
All About Parrots explains, “Quaker parrots are excellent talkers, capable of developing an extensive vocabulary. They begin speaking English early in life, but few pronounce decipherable words for 5-6 months. Male and female Quaker parrots are equally skilled talkers, learning up to 60 words.”
All About Parrots made me smile with this warning, “If a Quaker parrot stops talking, consider if you’ve done something to upset it. Emotions heavily influence Quakers, so they may cease communication if annoyed, unhappy, or jealous.” I guess they’ve got big feelings!
