I’ve written many posts over the years about dogs and cats looking for forever homes, in the hopes of helping people find their next family member. I always want these animals to find families that will love them, and oftentimes want to bring them home myself! This black cat named Daniel might be my favorite shelter cat ever, though.
Fran, an animal rescuer in Mokena, Illinois, shared Daniel’s story on TikTok, in the hopes of finding him a new home and getting him out of the shelter. Daniel doesn’t understand what’s happened to him; overnight, he lost his home, his family, and his routine. All he wants is love and affection, and people are lining up to help him find it!
@frangrzesik Daniel truly is the absolute best boy, he doesn’t deserve to sit and wait at the shelter. Let’s get this guy expedited to his forever home! If you have questions feel free to message me. Commenter Reactions to Getting Daniel the Black Cat Adopted
People viewed Fran’s video more than 1.6 million times and left nearly 5 thousand comments. One commenter shared, “Your videos make a difference, thank you so much for making these videos and giving these cats a chance!”
@justme swooned, “What a love bug. Hope he finds his forever.” @Evan added, “Black cats make the best cats! I hope someone takes this special gentleman into their home soon!”
Commenter @emilyneyens said, “Such a sweet boy, senior cats are AWESOME, so much love to give!” @bubblycats0972 commented, “I think we have to normalize not calling 8-year-olds ‘seniors’. My boys are 18 and 16 senior pets. This guy has a decade-plus to live a great life!”
After reading through many comments, trying to find an update about Daniel. I finally found the news we were all hoping to hear for him. @Daniel Rojas left this heartfelt comment, “Well, I didn’t intend to cry this morning. He has my name. From one Daniel to another, you’re gonna be ok and someone will love you, soon.”
My day was totally made when Fran replied to him on June 17th, “Sending you so much love, he was adopted to a very loving family!” I always love when these stories have happy endings!
