It’s a good day to be one mama duck! The poor duck was probably so stressed when she realized her babies were stuck down a drainpipe. What to do?! Thankfully, the mama didn’t have to stress all by her lonesome. A rescue team in Brookline, Massachusetts came to the duck’s rescue. And watching them save each and every duckling is beyond precious.
Help! Help! We don’t speak duck but we can imagine that’s what the mama duck was saying when she saw her babies fall through the sewer grate. Luckily, someone spotted the distressed animal and leapt into action.

Poor baby ducks! The little ones must’ve slipped right through the bars of the grate and couldn’t get out. Amazingly, police officers discovered the duck and worked with other officials to fish the ducklings out of the sewer. Success! They got each and every bird out.

The reunion between the ducklings and their mama could bring a tear to our eye. They were all so worried! There was a chance they’d never see each other again.

What to Do if You Finding Ducklings in a Sewer
Thank goodness someone found the ducks before the worst can happen. But what can you do if you happen to run into a flock of ducklings stuck in a sewer grate? It might be tempting to try and fish them out yourself, but that’s probably not the best idea. It can be dangerous for you and possibly dangerous for the birds.
Ducks are also protected by the Migratory Bird Act, so if you find them in a dangerous area you might want to leave them be. Instead, call your local animal control agency. They’ll send someone out to help you and can safely remove the birds from any risk.
Again, it’s so lucky that this mama and her babies were found. This story had a happy ending after all!
