When many people think about animal shelters, they picture sad dogs and cats waiting sadly in kennels as potential adopters pass by, but the heartwarming truth is that many shelter animals are adored by the staff and volunteers who care for them. It’s no forever home, but it can be a huge comfort while they wait.
At the Humane Society of Ventura County in Southern California, shelter dog Ozzie is so beloved that he can’t help but zoom in excitement when volunteers let him outside into the play yard. He’s been so resilient and loving despite waiting over 5 months at the shelter that it’s hard to believe he has no adoption interest!
The shelter gave their fans a sneak peek at the Pit Bull’s zoomies around the yard in a late May TikTok video, and viewers are smiling from ear to ear. This shelter dog’s joy is contagious!

Run, Ozzie, run! I could watch this video on repeat all day long, and this happy dog‘s zoomies would never get old. The way he leaps around the yard could make anyone smile from ear to ear, though Ozzie’s fans also have their fingers crossed that this video will inspire someone to adopt him, too.

“I’ve got plenty of energy and love to keep busy,” Ozzie’s adoption profile begins, “so an active household is exactly what I need to burn off all that excitement!” He loves to run around the yard and is known as an especially talkative boy, so it’s safe to say that his personality is larger than life.
He’d be an excellent rescue dog for a young person, couple, or family who prioritizes activity and fun. Although Ozzie can be selective about his canine playmates, he’s a happy dog who loves people and acts especially crazy around horses. He doesn’t know what to make of them!

Just look at that handsome mug! With that wide smile and those warm eyes, Ozzie is surely going to charm his way into his adopters’ hearts from the very first moment they meet.
