The dog days of summer are upon us, and everyone is doing what they have to do to cool off. And of course, that includes our animal friends, like Doug, the Potbelly Pig. So, what does Dougie do to cool off?
Why, he enjoys splashing around on a splash pad, of course! But as this video shows, Doug is not the only animal on the farm who wants to use the splash pad to stay cool. Archie, the goose, also wants to use the splash pad.
They often say that patience is a virtue. Well, in that case, Doug is an incredibly virtuous Potbelly Pig! He is just so patient and polite while he waits for Archie to finish. His humans must be really proud of him, knowing that they raised such a well-mannered pig!
Unfortunately, the same cannot be said for Archie, who was acting a little bit rotten and selfish, not wanting to share the splash pad with his bovine brother.
When Doug finally did get his turn on the splash pad, Archie very rudely poked Doug with his beak until the pig retreated from the aquatic pad.
But don’t worry, eventually Archie decided he was done with it, and then Doug finally got the splash pad all to himself.

And boy, did he look happy! And Doug was very happy with the splash pad indeed, until he accidentally rooted it too hard and ended up tearing right through it.
But all in all, this splash pad did give Doug and the other animals on this form a nice chance to cool off for a while, even if it didn’t last the entire day.
But don’t worry, according to a comment on this video, this splash pad only cost $10. According to that same comment, it also lasted around 10 hours.
If you ask us, one dollar an hour to help these adorable farm animals cool off during a sweltering heat wave is money well spent!
Doug, being the cultured Potbelly Pig that he is, has found a variety of ways to cool off over the years. When he was just a young little piglet, he was fond of taking naps in hammocks and having his humans cover them up so that he would be shaded from the sun.
This is pretty much the epitome of total cuteness overload! It is also the best kind of pig in a blanket we could ever imagine. We’re just grateful to live in a world where a polite, smart, and adorable Potbelly Pig like Doug gets to enjoy hammocks and splash pads!
