At animal sanctuaries and zoos, every baby animal is a treasure. Not only are they adorable and entertaining to watch, but they’re each as unique as can be. What’s not to love?
On June 10, however, zookeepers at Tennessee Safari Park found an extra special surprise when their mama camel gave birth to a beautiful, white baby. Snow-white camels like him are incredibly rare, especially when born to two tan-colored parents, and it’s easy to see why everyone is falling head over heels. With his pristine fur and icy blue eyes, he couldn’t be more stunning!
This beautiful camel calf is already taking the Internet by storm. Just imagine how excited Tennesseans will be when he’s available for the public to see!

Isn’t he stunning? Those wobbly baby steps could put a smile on anyone’s face, but his snow-white coat has people scratching their heads, too. How could this rare baby be born to two paint camels (AKA regular, tan-colored camels most people know and love)?

Athough it’s different from albinism, this genetic mutation causes similar physical characteristics, like white fur and blue eyes, due to a lack of pigment in the areas. It’s incredibly rare, especially among two paint camels, which is why this little one is being called ‘a miracle.’
Tennesee Safari Park is asking for the public’s help with naming this cutie pie, and there are already some top contenders. The classic choice, of course, would be the name Miracle, but commenters are getting creative with their animal name reommendations.
One viewer suggested, “Markle…a play on ‘miracle,’ but sounds more masculine,” while another loved “Asher. It’s the Hebrew meaning for blessed or miracle for a boy!” There are so many directions to go when naming this cool camel, whether it’s referencing his snowy coat or his rare status.
Whatever his name becomes, there’s no doubt that he’s going to be a star among the Tennessee Safari Park zoo animals. He’s already stealing the spotlight, and he’s only been around for one whole day!
Soon enough, park guests will be able to visit him through the drive-through or traditional zoo areas of the park. That’s going to be such a treat!
