Adopting a rescue dog may require commitment, flexibility, and the patience of a saint, but it’s also one of the best things most people ever do. I will never forget the way my family’s life was turned upside down when we brought home our rescued Poodle mix from the local shelter, but after a year or so of trial and error, we had all found our perfect rhythm and routines. I wouldn’t change it for the world!
Fourteen years later, that same rescue dog is still the light of our lives. Of course, there were challenges along the way, but giving that dog a loving home has been oh-so-rewarding. I know dog mom Julia feels the same way!
She fell in love instantly after adopting a sweet Labrador Retriever and Shepherd mix, but a priceless moment that happened a few days after he came home officially melted her heart. Thankfully, she got the precious moment on film, and now all of her followers have melted, too!
