Going for a hike in the hills or visiting your favorite National Park is all about seeing what Mother Nature has to offer. However, whether your goal is to climb to the top of a waterfall or simply wander the easiest trail, there’s something most people hope never to see in the wild: a bear!
Fortunately, the vast majority of bear encounters end uneventfully, but the prospect of running into a bear, especially a grizzly bear, is enough to put anyone on edge. The only exception is a group of adorable rescued grizzly bear cubs who charmed everyone at the vet clinic where they had their very first check-up.
The cute bear cubs visited Panhandle Veterinary Services in Chipley, Florida, on June 11, which these lucky vets and vet techs will always remember as the best day they’ve ever had at work. Even though the bears ran around in the clinic like they owned the joint, everyone who met them was all smiles!
@jpcarew Thank you Dexter and Isaac for bringing these beautiful grizzly bear cubs to us for check ups. Such a treat. We loved every minute and can’t wait to see them grow at your sanctuary – @Grizzly Ranch Bear Rescue #grizzlybears #grizzlybear #grizzlybearcubs #bearcubs #bears #wildliferescue #wildlifevet #wildlifeveterinarian
What beautiful baby bears! This is a once-in-a-lifetime experience for both the bears and the vet staff who helped care for them. By the time the cubs need their next check-up, they’ll be much too big to visit the vet clinic the same way!
“Imagine being sick that day at work,” someone commented. They would never live it down! Every patient is special and memorable, but giving bear cubs a check-up is both a personal and professional achievement.

The only ones who would be more baffled are the other patients and their families. Another commenter made me laugh out loud when she wrote, “Imagine the dog in the same vet clinic going home and telling his friends there were grizzlies in the clinic this morning.” No one would believe them!
Fortunately, these professionals are knowledgeable about their work. It looks like the bears were the only ones in the clinic during their appointment, which meant no other pet or feral animal would be in danger. Even though the little ones are still babies, it’s always better to be safe than sorry.
These curious cubs belong to Grizzly Ranch Bear Rescue in Alabama, where they’ll grow up into formidable predators just like they would in the wild. This unforgettable appointment was only the first step! Now that they all have a clean bill of health, they can continue growing up in their sanctuary without a care in the world.
