While many humans may love and respect animals, there are so many animals that face cruelty at the hands of humans. Thankfully, there are those who have dedicated their time to helping and rehabilitating animals who’ve faced the worst like @conservationmollie.
@conservationmollie aids elephants and aims to promote better treatment of animals. She recently posted about a rescued elephant who had gone through so much mistreatment. After only one week of being in a safe environment where they were free to just be, this elephant has made a drastic transformation from when they first arrived at the animal rescue.
@conservationmollie One week free from chains, abuse, and giving rides to tourists. The difference speaks for itself ❤️🩹 #elephantrescue #elephantsanctuary #thailand #animalrescue #elephantnaturepark #transformation #beforeandafter
It’s like night and day! At the beginning of the video, this poor elephant appears extremely depressed, no doubt due to harmful treatment. Their head is down, and there is sadness in their eyes. Along with that, you can also see the chains around the elephant’s feet.
As the video continues, we get to see this elephant’s healing journey unfold. “One week free from chains, abuse, and giving rides to tourists. The difference speaks for itself,” wrote @conservationmollie in the post caption. And there’s a huge change from the first clip. You see this elephant “happy, safe, and free” as the video text describes.
First, they are in the water, and it looks as if their spirit has been lifted. There’s even a smile on the elephants face as they have a drink.
Then it cuts to another scene where they are interacting with another elephant, even playfully throwing dirt around.
In the last clip, the elephant just looks so peaceful as they stand in the sun and bask in its rays. That’s just what viewers were wishing for this beautiful creature.

“Aww. [E]very beautiful elephant should feel this kind of freedom,” said @sandy104c. Others like @saravargas12 agreed, and they chimed in, adding, “That’s all they really want is to live free.”
Many commenters were appalled at the horrible treatment this elephant had received. @naznine.qureshi said, “Majestic creatures. [They] don’t belong in circuses and captivity. They were born to be free.”
One thing you can say about this elephant is that they are resilient. After everything, they were still able to trust humans, and in one week, they’ve been able to embrace a new life. All elephants deserve to be happy, safe, and free like this one! And we thank those like @conservationmollie who are doing the work to help them.
