Is there really anything more adorable than a rescued sheep meeting a new flock of sheep friends? Not really. And when you consider the story behind this meeting, you realize that it is not just adorable, but life-affirming.
This is the story of Nicole, the rescued sheep who barely survived being killed, found peace and love with her new sheep friends.
According to this video, Nicole was rescued from a brutal situation before arriving at this animal sanctuary. Not only was she almost killed at her previous farm, but all of her babies died there as well.
This video was taken two days after she was rescued. At first, she is very tentative, unsure of her surroundings. Then a large flock of sheep comes out to greet her.

They are very gentle as they approach her, cautiously sniffing her, to let her know that she is safe and that everything is okay now. After a moment, all the sheep in the flock surrounding Nicole seemingly to welcome her to their family.
It almost looks like all of them are trying to give her a group hug. And she could certainly use one after what she has just been through! It’s a precious, tender, heartwarming moment, to say the least.
Highly Social Sheep
As this video showed, sheep are highly social animals. They thrive when they are together. Like many other social creatures, they have hierarchal social structures.
That means that there are dominant individuals who are respected as leaders, and submissive individuals who are seen as subordinates within the flock. Sheep have also shown a tendency to develop very strong bonds within their flock.
They are capable of recognizing each other’s voices and faces, and are also capable of exhibiting emotions like fear and anxiety, as well as contentment, which they all share and experience together as a flock.
Well, that certainly shows why this flock was so quick to surround Nicole. It’s just so wonderful to see them accept her in such a pure, wholesome way, especially after the horrors she has just been through.
Hopefully, she is making new friends who will help and support her on her healing journey!
