From sprawling urban centers to technological advances, there’s no denying that humans have left their mark on the world. This has plenty of advantages, of course, but it’s not so great for the animals whose homes we’ve invaded.
This has led to numerous encounters with wild animals, including bears making themselves comfortable in people’s campsites and homes. However, one Californian’s animal interaction has just raised the bar.
On June 4, a Los Angeles-based interior designer named Angela posted a mind-boggling video her roofer sent from ‘up the hill,’ and people can’t believe their eyes. The brave roofer came face-to-face with an angry puma, or mountain lion, and they didn’t shy away from taking a closer look!
OMG, this is a stunning wild cat! That direct eye contact and soft hiss could send chills down anyone’s spine, but this roofer didn’t back down. True, they were in the safety of their car, but it would take less than a second for the puma to lunge at the vehicle instead of walking by.
“Window open was an interesting choice,” commented Reko. I was thinking the same thing! If I saw that massive mountain lion, I’d be racing to roll my window up as fast as possible. Clearly, this roofer has seen and experienced some things, because they are unfazed!

Other viewers speculated whether the big cat was angry or annoyed, especially because they may have been interrupted while doing some personal business. That would get on my nerves, too! There’s no question that their hiss was saying something, though whether it was more of a warning or a defensive sound is still up for debate.
Of course, this video would not be complete without the iconic play on words: “I would’ve puma pants.” It’s both accurate and clever! This kind of wild animal encounter would make anyone nervous, but having literally no barrier between the observer and the cat would be too much for me.
This roofer gets plenty of kudos for their bravery, though hopefully no one else is ever caught off guard in such a close interaction. This could have ended so differently—phew!
