Because there are so many rescue animals waiting for their perfect families, animal shelters can’t always wait until a potential adopter comes to them. Adoption events at pet stores, farmers’ markets, and street fairs are great ways to help people fall in love with a new furry friend, but it’s always heartbreaking to see any of the animals still waiting at the end of the day.
Not long ago, this was Bullet’s reality. He’s a friendly and gentle-spirited Pit Bull who loves dogs and people of all ages, but he broke millions of hearts when a sad video of him went viral on TikTok. He kept on smiling despite being the only dog left behind at the end of the June 29 adoption event, and his friends at Carson Animal Shelter in Southern California became even more determined to help him.
@hicarsondogss Your people will come Bullet, I promise 🤞🏼 2 years old. owner surrender. lived with dogs. very people friendly. good with kids. animal ID A5707520
Just look at that face! Bullet may have a strong, even intimidating name, but his sweet smile and gentle demeanor show that he’s just a big love bug. He was such a polite dog at the shelter’s adoption event, and he made no fuss when his friends picked him up to help him in and out of the truck.

It’s unfathomable to think that this 2-year-old sweetheart was the only dog left at the end of the adoption event, but this rescue Pit Bull‘s family was clearly just around the corner. His shelter friends had no doubt that he’d make the right family oh-so-lucky! Even so, everyone was pleasantly surprised by just how quickly the right adopters found him.
Just 2 days later, everything changed for the better!
@hicarsondogss BULLET UPDATE!!!!!!!!
Congratulations, Bullet! This former shelter dog is now the beloved little brother to another Pit Bull, and he has two mamas to spoil him rotten every day.
Are you ready for the best part? He’s beginning his new life with a new name to match his sister’s, and if this doesn’t show that he’s officially part of the family, I don’t know what will. His sister’s name is Lilo, and he’s now Stitch!
With this brand new bundle of joy and love around, this ‘ohana is finally complete. Happy tails, Stitch!
