If there’s one thing that almost all Labrador Retrievers love, it’s playing in water. It doesn’t matter if it’s the pool, a lake, a river, the ocean, or a muddy puddle; they can’t get enough of it. Buster is a Lab who never gets enough pool time with both his human and canine siblings. In this video, Buster sees his human brother Jackson use a kiddie pool to float in and decides he wants to do it too.
Of course, using a kiddie pool to float in isn’t the best idea, and Buster’s mom tries to tell him that it’s not going to work. But Buster doesn’t give up on trying to make it happen. Watch to the end to see if he’s successful or not!

Well, Buster gave it the good old college try, but it didn’t go as planned! He didn’t give up though and learned a good lesson – no floating on the big, blue plastic thingy!
Commenter @Mike Appell said what Buster was probably thinking, “I don’t give a fluff what you say, I am going to try!” @rossco62 pointed out, “Buster floated for a few seconds anyway lol…” and another commenter added, “He just wants to be in a pool while being in the pool LOL!”

Do All Labrador Retrievers Like the Water?
We’ve never met a Lab that didn’t like the water, and there’s a good reason for that. The American Kennel Club explains, “If you think about a breed’s traditional purpose, it becomes obvious that some will be drawn to the water. Certain breeds were born to swim because they were developed for jobs in and around water. Consider the Labrador Retriever or the Nova Scotia Duck Tolling Retriever. These dogs were bred to retrieve water birds for the hunter.”
Labs have webbed toes and a water-resistant coat, making them the perfect water dogs and allowing them to swim in very cold water for long periods of time.
But not all Labs are fans of the water. Everything Labradors shared, “Not all Labradors instinctively love water; gradual and positive introduction is key.” This certainly isn’t the case when it comes to Buster; I fell down a rabbit hole of funny videos of him in the pool, so make sure to check out his feed if you want to see more!
