If anyone ever doubts that pets are fur babies, we encourage them to take a look at what happens when a pet parent tries to get them to leave the park when it’s time to go home. It’s not uncommon for them to pretty much act like a human child in that scenario.
Just take Frankie, the Pug, for instance. Her human mama tells her that it’s time to go home, but she proceeds to hide, like the little child that she is, because she doesn’t want to go home yet.
As this video shows, getting Frankie to leave the park is not easy. A caption notes, “When I tell Frankie we have to leave the park,” before showing the little Pug attempting to take cover behind a plant like she’s a little munchkin playing a game of hide and seek.
Frankie’s human mama calls out her name and tells her it is time to go, but she refuses to budge and keeps on hiding behind the plant. Her mama lets her know that she is “not camouflaged” and that she can still see her clear as day.

But that is of no matter to Frankie. For she believes that, “if I become the plant…They cannot make me leave.” While we don’t know how much Frankie’s logic actually checks out, we certainly do admire her youthful spirit.
After all, who didn’t try hiding from their parents when they told them that it was time to leave the park when they were a kid?
As this other video shows, Frankie is also a very expressive little dog and has zero issues with letting her human mama know exactly how she feels when she is asked to do something that she doesn’t want to do, such as leaving the park.
She alternates between wearing a frown the size of the St. Louis Gateway Arch and grinning in a way that Ronald McDonald could only dream of. She really is a wellspring of emotion!
But in the end, after smiling and frowning on and off throughout the video, Frankie’s human mama asks her nicely, and Frankie, who in spite of her hide-and-seek shenanigans is clearly a good fur baby at heart, gives her a heartwarming smile.
