Anyone who doubts that pets in general, and dogs in particular, are children has clearly never seen a fur baby throw a tantrum that would give any human toddler a run for their money.
This is as true of small dogs as it is of large ones. The truth is that many canines are highly skilled in the art of attempting to use childish antics to get their way. It’s also true of when they don’t get what they want.
Just take Chewy, the massive, 150-pound Newfoundland, who does not react well at all when his human mama tells him that he has run out of his favorite treats.
Now, as any dog parent will tell you, running out of your beloved canine companion’s favorite treats is a big no-no. It sends the wrong message to them and invites them to engage in all kinds of outrageous behavior to let you know how displeased they are with you.
And, as this video shows, Chewy’s human mama does not start things off on the right foot. She very foolishly attempts to reason with him, offering up other treats in place of his beloved favorite. Obviously, Chewy is insulted by this tone-deaf gesture.
After all, his human knows what he likes. How dare she try to switch things up on him? Of course, he’s going to hop around like a disgruntled 150-pound bunny, whining and pawing at the floor. What else was he going to do?

This dog has clearly seen many human children at work, and he knows exactly how to communicate his displeasure to his human mother.
And of course, she only makes things worse when she sticks a new treat right in his face and asks him to just give it a try. All it takes is one sniff, and this giant Newfy knows that this treat is not his treat, and he can hardly believe what is happening.
Shocked and completely forlorn by his human’s brazen behavior, Chewy sprawls out onto the floor, dramatically whining and flailing his limbs about, to give his foolish mother a piece of his mind.
And shame on Chewy’s silly human for thinking she could pull something like this on him! As this other video shows, Chewy is a canine of very particular tastes.
If his stake is not cooked exactly how he likes it, he will simply sniff the questionable meat and push the plate away with his nose to let his mother know that he will not accept such an inadequate offering.
Honestly, dogs like Chewy live such difficult lives. How is it that humans, like his mother, can be so aloof and thoughtless when it comes to feeding them?
