If you’re looking for something to brighten up your day, this video that ABC7LA shared on TikTok recently is it. The video shows a Golden Retriever named Ashe trying to help his little human brother, Griffin, learn how to crawl. It’s the cutest thing you’ll see today!
The video starts with the two boys lying next to each other on the carpet. Watch on to see how Ashe pushes himself up and forward, demonstrating for Griffin how to crawl. If this doesn’t make you smile, nothing will!
@abc7la One very special #goldenretriever named Ashe took on the role of teacher, gently showing #baby Griffin how to crawl in a precious video. 🥺💕
My heart! This was the sweetest thing I’ve seen in a long time. Ashe was so patient and loves little Griffin so much. The two will be best friends forever!
Viewers of ABC7’s video loved it as much as I did. @carriejo527 swooned, “This is amazing and heartwarming!” @Alexa agreed and added, “Aww, Ashe is such a gentle teacher, Griffin is lucky to have such a patient friend!”
@xpuppydiva pointed out, “The reward licks!” Another commenter noticed too: “Licks of encouragement and ‘good job kid’!”

The Bond Between Babies and Dogs
How can you tell if your dog loves your new baby? Many dogs will not leave the baby’s side and act as a protector. It’s like they know they have to be gentle with the baby, even if baby’s aren’t always gentle with the dog!
Dogs show their love in many different ways. Tail wags are always a tell, as are those big sloppy kisses like the one Ashe gave Griffin. When your dog stares at you, they’re admiring and loving you. Similar to when humans are in love and stare into each other’s eyes, dogs do the same. Oxytocin (the feel-good hormone) is released into your brain when you’re in love in large quantities, and the same thing happens to your dog.
Scents are also very important to our dogs, which is why dogs like to ‘steal’ our socks and shirts. Smelling these things makes the dog feel secure and safe. It’s one of the strongest bonds they have with us and is one of the reasons they always want to be near us, so they can smell us.
I think it’s safe to say that Ashe definitely loves Griffin, and the baby boy loves his furry dog right back!
