There are so many reasons to love spring, from warmer temperatures to beautiful flowers and baby animals. Even so, springtime also brings its fair share of challenges, like allergies and severe weather.
Recently, the Midwest was hit by severe thunderstorms and tornadoes that downed trees, caused flooding, and left millions without power. One town that experienced particularly severe storms in mid-June was Lenexa, Kansas. However, amidst the destruction, there is a heartwarming story that has provided the happy ending everyone needed to see.
One Lenexa resident was shocked to find a bobcat kitten hiding in their home during the storms, but the little one was safely released outdoors the following morning. Just wait until you see the moment they were finally reunited with their mom!

It’s such a relief they’re back together again! This could have ended so differently, but the selfless homeowner and local authorities did all they could to set this mom and kitten up for success. They kept the little one safe and warm overnight after finding the bobcat in the home, and when the coast was clear in the morning, they released the baby in the same spot, just outside the home.
It didn’t take long before the mama bobcat heard her baby’s cries and raced to the rescue. She wasted no time falling back into her motherly role, from nuzzling her little one to warily staring down the people watching nearby. She’s such a great mom!

Bobcats in the Midwest
A bobcat, often referred to as a “wild cat,” is a type of big cat that belongs to the lynx family. They are native to North America and can be found from Canada to Mexico, and in every state except Alaska, Hawaii, and Delaware. They are common in mountainous and wooded areas, including in Kansas, where this reunion took place.
Whether you can relate to this mama’s struggle or you simply appreciate the majesty of nature, another commenter was 100% correct when she said, “We all needed this sweet moment today.”
