While no doubt rescuing a pet can turn your entire life upside down, not everyone considers just how much changes for the pets who finally find their forever homes. Whether they’re adopted from a shelter or rescued off the street, everything they know changes for the better when their forever families finally come along.
No one knows this better than Saint Pawtrick, the loving orange cat from New York City who waited over 700 days for someone to notice him. After being found at a construction site in 2023 (thank goodness he wasn’t hurt!), he’s been adored by volunteers at @puppykittynycity, but nothing will help this sweetheart thrive like the stability and love of a forever home.
Saint Paddy’s rescuers issued a plea in late May to help him match with the perfect family, and it’s safe to say that the video had people talking. No one could resist this cute kitty’s loving nature.
How is such an adorable cat still at the shelter after two whole years? Even though he’d spent so long in a kennel, he still purrs with happiness when his human friends stop by to visit. He never lost hope despite watching the other shelter cats get adopted, and everyone had their fingers crossed that karma was on his side.
“So sweet, adorable, and friendly,” a commenter gushed. “How has no one chosen him?” That’s precisely what everyone was asking themselves! This gentle soul has so much love to give, and his friends at the animal shelter know that the right person is going to see just how special he is.

And they were right! Saint Pawtrick was adopted a week after this video was posted, much to everyone’s relief. No one deserves a loving forever home more than him, and now he finally has his pot of gold at the end of the rainbow.
“Whoever adopted Saint Pawtrick is a lucky owner,” a cat mom named Rica commented. “Orange cats are great. So much love to give. He will give you so much attention, with lots of kisses and hugs. Orange tabbies are the sweetest.”
You can say that again! Orange cats are known for being outgoing and social, and this rescue cat is no exception. We’re so glad to see that he finally found his Happily Ever After!
