There are so many ways to show someone that you love them, from writing a letter to giving a kiss. Love can take many different forms, too, whether it’s romance, family, or even friendship.
Senior rescue dogs Mimi and Teddy Swims know a thing or two about friendship and love! They became friends a few months ago, when sweet Pit Bull Mimi arrived at Old Souls Animal Rescue in Tucson, Arizona. She had been left behind in a park by a thoughtless human, but now that she has Teddy, her rescuers, and her other canine friends, her life has taken a major turn for the better.
@oldsoulsanimalres This is what senior dogs getting second chances look like! Just a few months ago, Mimi was found alone and abandoned in a park. Nowadays, she has her own personal groomer, Teddy Swims, ensuring she is sparkling clean and looking her best (while she gets her beauty sleep)! #seniordog #seniordogs #seniordogsoftiktok #seniordogsrule #seniordogsanctuary
This is true love! Rescue dog Mimi and her senior Chihuahua bestie may be different in size, breed, and even energy level, but they found the perfect way to bond. Not only are Teddy’s kisses oh-so-cute, but they’re also comforting and inviting to the rescue’s newer resident.
“Teddy Swims loves grooming the senior dogs,” the Arizona rescue shared in a comment’s reply. “Some don’t love it, but Mimi sure does!” No kidding! This sweet old girl has a one-way ticket to Snoozeville, and her train is about to depart.
We may not know what Mimi’s life was like before she was found as an abandoned dog in the park, but we do know that she’s now surrounded by endless love and fun. Both of these Old Souls are forever residents at this comfy rescue home, so everyone can rest assured that they’ll be together for the rest of their days.
Rescuing Senior Dogs
As heartbreaking as it can be to watch a dog get older, it’s also an incredible gift to keep them comfortable, safe, and happy during their golden years. Senior dogs are so loving and grateful for everything you do, and they make the perfect cuddle buddies!
Even though this rescue provides a safe place for Tucson dogs to live out the rest of their lives, anyone can care for a senior dog. It just requires some preparation and education! When in doubt, a veterinarian can help dog parents navigate this new phase of life as smoothly as possible.
That way, your dog can get back to living life with their BFFs, just like Mimi and Teddy Swims!
